BRASS FITTED GORGETNW80841MADE IN INDIA This medieval knight Gorget set would be perfect for any LARP event, renaissance festival or battle reenactment. The Armor Neck Guard protected a Medieval warrior from deadly damage to his throat. The guard was made to deflect blows to the neck while in battle. This Gorget is made of solid steel and features some brass detailing. The front and back piece are connected with one stud found on either shoulder. It has an overall width of about 15.5", and a height of approximately 5" and a 8" neck opening diameter. 8 1/2 inches from neck to bottom front and weighs approx 1.8 lbs. This piece will fit the part of a Medieval costume or serve as a wonderfully unique display item..... Or be creative and place it on a plaque or stand and present as an award of gratitude to someone who has often graciously "saved your neck" just like this gorget!

During the 13th - 15th centuries, Royalty and the Highest Military Class, the Knight wore Medieval Suits of Armour. Made by hammering and heating the Steel, the Knight's Armour and Sword were both powerful and unique works of art. Constructed by Craftsmen of the highest skill suits of armour were only afforded by the wealthy. The Working Class or Soldier for hire usually acquired their Armor on the battlefield from some unfortunate soul who had passed on in battle and who would not require it in the afterlife.
