FUNCTIONAL SABATON FOOT ARMOUR PAIRNobleWares Image of Functional Steel Sabaton Foot armour pair NW80832 made in India NW80832 INDIA
No more stubbed toes here! This pair of leg foot armor is a replica of those used throughout the Middle Ages. This pair of sabatons are made of 16 gauge steel and protect the foot and heal. Designed to be worn over a shoe or boot, the armoured toe tapers to a very intimidating point, an effective style of the period. Designed to fit nearly any adult shoe size they are hinged and fitted with genuine leather adjustable buckled straps to allow a secure fit to each foot. This sturdy pair will be a great addition to anyone assembling their medieval armor for LARP, costume or Reenactment events, not to mention an inspirational gift for those who are always shooting themselves in the foot! :) Hang them in noble display on your castle wall when not in use.

Measuring a man's value by the size of his foot?
A sabaton is part of a knight's armour that covers the foot. Fifteenth century sabatons typically end in a tapered point well past the actual toes of the wearer's foot. Sabatons of the first half of sixteenth century end at the tip of the toe and may be wider than the actual foot. They were the first piece of armour to be put on, and were made of riveted iron plates.
Princes and dukes were allowed to have toes of gothic sabatons 2.5 feet (0.76 m) long, lords (barons and higher) 2 feet long and gentry only 1-foot (0.30 m) long.
