CHAIN MAIL LEGGINGSNobleWares Image of Medieval Knights Chainmail Leggings in Grey LS1690 and Black LS1695 by Legends In Steel LS1690/LS1695 BY LEGENDS IN STEEL
Chainmail chausses, or leggings, were one of the earliest forms of leg armor that provided substantial protection from bladed weapons. This version covers the front of both thighs and the front and back of the lower leg. The mail links are "butted" and the weave is a "European 1 in 4" pattern and are consistent in size(developed and used in Europe the weave is called "1 in 4" because every one ring is attached to 4 other rings). Constructed with rust resistant zinc-plated 18 gauge steel, these leggings are available in your choice of grey or black finish. These very affordable 16-gauge chain mail leggings are sure to keep your butt and your pocketbook both intact. One size fits most. (Belt shown not included - Sold Separately)

Chain mail is made by creating a weave of multiple interlocking ringlets of iron or steel that, as a whole, are stronger than simply the sum of it parts; these Chain Mail Leggings are a piece of body-protection that saw widespread use. Known throughout ancient times as a warriors body armor, chainmail remained a primary protection until the advent of plated steel armor. Although the effectiveness of bare mail armors was somewhat lessened by the advancement of blunt and piercing weapon designs, chainmail remained an added component beneath plated armour due to its strength, flexibility and ease of wear.
