A great conversation piece, collectors item and even LARP (Live Action Role Play) accessory. A decorative shield not intended to withstand actual blunt force combat. Specs may vary slightly from piece to piece.

KING RICHARD THE LIONHEART (1157 - 1199)
Richard Plantagenet is revered as one of the great warrior kings of England. Richard I was well known for his bravery which earned him the nickname "The Lionheart". A name that has reached epic and mythological proportions, best seen in literary works such as Robin Hood and Sir Walter Scott's novel Ivanhoe. In 1198, his great seal bore a single rampant lion, but his shield was "Gules three lions passant guardant," the three lions reportedly representing England, Normandy, and Aquitaine. King Richard I died on April the 6th 1199. He was buried in the Fontvraud Abbey in Anjou France.
