CHARLEMAGNE WOODEN SHIELD AG876 by Art Gladius Made from sturdy wood, brightly coloured in blue and gold and emblazoned with golden Fleur De Lis and a heraldic crest, this eye catching shield is named after the great Charlemagne, a warrior king who takes his place among the "Nine Worthies" (Nine historical figures deemed to be the living embodiment of heroic chivalry) alongside such notables as Julius Caeser, Alexander the Great and King Arthur. Crafted in Toledo, Spain, the shield is made of wood bearing a wonderful authenticty not found in many decorative shields. Beautifully finished it fashions highly ornate fitting making it a piece great for home decor. Equipped with a thick steel chain on the reverse side of the shield, the shield is easily mounted and also features an adjustable sword handle/mount giving the ability to mount most sized swords behind it.
