MEDIEVAL MASSIVE SPIKED WAR HAMMERNobleWares Image of Medieval Massive Spiked War Hammer BK627 by BK BK627 BK
This 15th Century War Hammer was an important tool in the arsenal of the medieval soldier, who often fought against opponents in heavy armor. The war hammer allowed him to deal heavy forceful blows against an opponent clad in the thickest armor. Our medieval war hammer measures 27 1/2" overall, and is topped with a stainless steel hammerhead which features unique detailed engraving and a 5 1/2' armour piercing point. The hard wood shaft of the hammer is riveted and reinforced with stainless steel panels on each side of the handle and finished with a polished metal end cap. (Please Note: although strong materials as steel and wood are used in manufacturing this product, we catagorize this item as a "Decorative Replica" as it may not withstand the same level of forceful impacts as the original from which it is modeled. i.e. Doors were much thicker in Medieval Times.)

Medieval Massive Spiked War Hammer BK627 by BK
Medieval weapons varied from simple tools, like arrows, to complex engines of emerging medieval warfare technology, like cannons. The most used weapons were daggers, axes, clubs and spears, while swords were typically only used by knights and their retainers or by men wealthy enough to afford them. Medieval warfare is the warfare of the Middle Ages. In Europe, technological, cultural, and social developments had forced a dramatic transformation in the character of warfare from antiquity, changing military tactics and the role of cavalry and artillery. In terms of fortification, the Middle Ages saw the emergence of the castle in Europe, which then spread to southwestern Asia.
