16th CENTURY POLE AXE (Head Only) XB0099 GDFB
This Pole Axe replicates a late 15th. to early 16th. C. museum piece. It is supplied as an unmounted head only. The whole axe head assembly is constructed of high carbon steel and features 6 1/8" axe blade, set directly across from a menacingly large hammer, a pair of thick langets ready to be riveted in place to a wood shaft of your choosing. The massive assembly is crowned with a 6 5/8" long top spike that if care is not invested, is most sure to poke your eye out. The blade edge is left unsharpened for non-lethal use but can be sharpened if the brave owner so chooses. Its langet socket is approximately 1-1/4'' diameter and will nicely accommodate a 84" or 54" Ash Wood Pole (OX005) which are shown below to the right in the related items column and sold separately.
