MEDIEVAL TWIN BLADE WAR AXE 614G DENIX
War Axes were an important weapon in Medieval Europe, and they were typically capable of delivering crushing blows to mounted and unmounted foes alike. This axe is attributed to the Valkyries, legendary mystical warriors of Norse sagas who transported the souls of dead Vikings to Valhalla, home of the gods. This War Axe replica by Denix features a pair of 8" blunt edged blades and top spike. The Blades and pommel are inscribed with Viking runes and symbolic knotwork and are finished in antiqued grey. The shaft is wrapped in criss crossing leather strips which are studded into place. This replica War Axe by Denix measures 28 1/2 inches overall and is ideal for costume, visual stage prop use, and can add a powerful and realistic decorative appeal to your castle walls.

Great for costuming or role-playing, this War Axe also makes a fine wall decoration. These non-functioning replicas are made of cast metal and are not suitable for sharpening. Decorative axes and flails make excellent display pieces to be added to hallways, stairwells, or arranged on walls for an authentic medieval look. They are also suitable for theatrical purposes, although mock combat is not in their repertoire. Suitable for display only.
Among the many weapons used for battle during Medieval times, few were more popular nor as widely used as the Battle Axe, or War Axe. The highly sharpened blades on these formidable weapons could easily pierce armour and shred chain mail worn by opposing knights. The axe was relatively light-weight, allowing it to be an ideal weapon for one-handed battle either on the ground or atop horseback. |
