Flintlock Blunderbuss measures a whopping 17"
in length and weighs in at 2.5 lbs. This deluxe non-firing
model has been faithfully reproduced and has the same
weight, feel, and handling characteristic of the rare
and expensive original. These classic model guns are made
of zinc with highly polished European Wood stocks.
This handsome flintlock blunderbuss
pistol features a sim brass embossed barrel and ornate face butt cap.
The distinctive, widely flared muzzle of the blunderbuss was designed to scatter shot at close range, making it popular as a weapon for boarding parties and personal defense. The butt had a rounded and sometimes metal base (known as a skull crusher butt cap) so the pistol could be used as a club once fired. Issued either singularly or in pairs, the sea pistol had an effective range of only 3 or 4 yards. It would be fired and then thrown away to hopefully be retrieved after the fight.
These models cannot be disassembled
and cannot be made to fire real ammunition. They come
assembled, ready for display in your home or office.
