NORSE SPANGENHELM AH5501 DEEPEEKA
This Nordic Helm is constructed in the spangenhelm style with riveted plates of 18 gauge steel. Its exterior features riveted Norse knotwork, serpentine nasal embellishments in antiqued brass. The interior of the helmet is fitted with an adjustable suspension liner of black leather. The cheek-plates and nasal bar have also been given a layer or leather on the interior. The cheek-plates are equipped with a pair of brass rings that can be fitted with included lacing of brown leather (not pictured) to keep the helm fitted securely to the wearer's head. Deepeeka is world renown for their skills and dedication to building fine historic weapons and researched authentic functional armour replicas. The Nordic Spanglehelm is yet another fine example, keeping their celebrated reputation firmly established.

Spangenhelm style helms were common in the dark ages - being composed of a series of riveted plates they were simpler to construct then later medieval conical helms which would would be hammered out of a single piece of metal. This style of helm gave good protecting to the cranium, brow and sides of the face. The nasal bar prevented slashes to the face whilst being a minimum hindrance to the vision and breathing of the warrior.
