CIVIL WAR REPLICA IXL BOWIE KNIFE AH3198 by Deepeeka
This is a replica of a clip-point Bowie manufactured by the "King" of Bowie Knives, George Wolstenholm of "IXL" (meaning, I excel at what I was fashioned to do) fame. During the American Civil War, swords were still the most widely used edged weapon on the battlefields, but there was a need for knives as well. Used in battle, and more importantly for utility purposes in the field, this style of knife was carried by both Northern and Southern Troops.

This robust IXL styled bowie knife features a clip point 9.5" blade of polished carbon steel that comes factory dull and can be finely sharpened to meet personal specifications and use. If left unsharpened, its factory delivered "safe edge" makes the knife a perfect prop for re-enactment, theater and film, and costume events. The 5.5 inch Horn handle is crafted with brass hand guard and crosshatching. The blade tang is secured through the knife grips with brass pins and the handle sports the classic polished brass inlay. This IXL replica comes with a black leather sheath trimmed with brass fittings.

Produced in traditional methods similar to the originals, these replica pieces have the authentic appearance and structure of the time-worn antiques. They are often difficult to distinguish from the expensive genuine articles. These affordable & beautiful replicas bring back the flavor of history and are ready to display in your home or office, or offer service in the fields of reenactment or ceremony.
