1860 CIVIL WAR ENFIELD RIFLE MUSKETOON 1046 Denix
The Enfield "Short Rifle" was a percussion-lock rifle used extensively by both the North and South in the Civil War. It was generally well regarded for its accuracy and reliability even with its short barrel. This single-shot muzzle-loading rifle fired a .577 caliber conical ball. It was also used by British infantry of the period.

Measuring nearly 40 inches in length overall, this Denix model 1046 non-firing replica 1860 Enfield Musketoon is the little brother to the larger 1860 3-Band Enfield Percussion Rifle(Denix 1067). What set it apart was its shortened barrel length of 24" making loading faster and carrying easier. The Musketoon was much liked for its maneuverability. And being designed for use with the newer Minié ball bullets they could have a killing range of up to 1,000 yards which proved quite devastating to opposing bayonet charging troops.

Authentically styled and detailed this historic 2 band replica musketoon features a 24" blued barrel, blackened side plate assembly, barrel bands, 2 sling lanyards (sling not available) and adjustable sight; its blackened components are complemented by a round trigger guard, butt plate, and grip cap all finished in an attractive antique gold. The grip and shoulder stock are of European hardwood and are given a stained and smooth polished finish. Just like originals made at the British Government armory at Enfield, its percussion lock is stamped, London Armoury with the royal crown.

Equipped with working action and two tumbler hammer, it cocks and fires. A handsome prop when used for stage, film or costume accessory, yet its appeal is equally impressive when mounted in home or office for decorative display!
