1853 CIVIL WAR ENFIELD RIFLE-MUSKET 1067 Denix
The British pattern 1853 Rifle-Musket (also known as the Pattern 1853 Enfield, P53 Enfield Percussion Cap Musket, and Enfield Rifle-Musket) was the second most widely used infantry weapon of the Civil War surpassed only by the Springfield Model 1861 Rifled Musket. Both Federal and Confederate troops used the rifle throughout the war and almost one million were shipped to the combattants from several British manufacturers. The gun was widely regarded as well made and very accurate. The .577 caliber of the gun allowed the use of ammunition made for the .58 caliber American-made arms that were standard for both armies.

Measuring nearly 55 inches in length overall, this Denix model 1067 non-firing replica 1853 Enfield Rifle-Musket is the big brother to the smaller 1860 Enfield Musketoon Rifle(Denix 1046). Authentically styled and detailed this historic 3 band replica Rifle-Musket features a 38-5/8" blued barrel, blackened side plate assembly, 3 barrel bands, 2 sling lanyards (sling not available) and adjustable sight; its blackened components are complemented by a round trigger guard, butt plate, and grip cap all finished in an attractive antique gold. The grip and shoulder stock are of European hardwood and are given a stained and smooth polished finish. Just like originals made at the British Government armory at Enfield, its percussion lock is stamped, London Armoury with the royal crown.

Equipped with working action and two tumbler hammer, it cocks and fires. A handsome prop when used for stage, film or costume accessory, yet its appeal is equally impressive when mounted in home or office for decorative display!
