CIVIL WAR GOLD EMBROIDERED OFFICER COLLAR STARS
Officers were identified by the simple symbolism on the collars, which were either stars (senior officers) or bars (junior officers). General officers were identified by the addition of a gold floral wreath around the three stars of a colonel. General Robert E. Lee, possibly the most revered general of the war, habitually wore a uniform bearing a colonel's stars, his rank when he resigned from the U.S. Army in 1861. Besides this sleeve decoration, the rank of officers was further shown by devices worn on the collar of the tunic as follows:

All of our five pointed stars are sold by the pair only. They are gold bullion embroidered on a colored wool background. ORDER ONE PAIR FOR MAJOR......TWO PAIR FOR LT. COLONEL.....THREE PAIR FOR COLONEL

Available to both Yankee and Rebel alike, these Civil War Collar Star Insignias are a great accessory to top off your authentic Civil War outfit. Ideal for re-enactments, weddings, LARPing, costumes for film and theatre.
