CIVIL WAR LEATHER SWORD HANGER 16-A35
The J.E.B. Stuart Sword Hanger became a standard cavalry issue throughout the Civil and Indian Wars, up to 1900. Prior to the onset of the Civil War, J.E.B. Stuart did not like the design of the sword hangers used at that time so he designed and patented his own style of hanger. His device enabled the cavalryman to remove the sword, scabbard, and belt slings entirely without unhooking the scabbard from the belt and leaving the straps swinging loose from the belt rig.

This Sword hanger was used by both USA and CSA during the war between the States. With a 3 inch brass clip, it is made to clip on to an existing belt. Two sturdy black leather belt straps equipped with brass buttons, a longer strap to the back and the shorter to the front, are designed to fit through your sword scabbard rings and hold your saber securely and positioned at the ready. One size fits most.

This Civil War Leather Sword Hanger is a perfect accessory to top off your authentic Civil War outfit. Ideal for re-enactments, weddings, LARPing, costumes for film and theatre.
