GOLD CAVALRY CROSSED SABERS INSIGNIA PIN NW2960
In August 1861 it was decided to rename dragoons and mounted riflemen as Cavalry and as their insignia, all of them wore crossed sabers edge up. During the Civil War cavalrymen wore crossed sabers on the front of the dress hat (aka Hardee or Jeff Davis) and either on the top or sometimes the front of the forage cap or kepi. This insignia used in the Civil War was a design in service from 1858-1872. This insignia is appropriate for both US and CS enlisted troops.

In Civil War times, the metal insignia were attached by loops of wire or wire prongs soldered to the back of the insignia. Our modern created replica makes the attachment process a little less consuming by offering pin posts and clutch back fasteners. Measuring 2-1/2 inches across and a little over an inch tall, this quality Gold Crossed-Sabers Hat Pin is a perfect fit for our Union and Confederate Slouch Hats and broad range of Kepis. Featuring sturdy metal construction this Civil War Cavalry Insignia is plated with a gold high polished finish that gleams with pride and tradition.

Available to both Yankee and Rebel alike, these Civil War Hat Insignias are a great accessory to top off your authentic Civil War outfit. Ideal for re-enactments, weddings, LARPing, costumes for film and theatre.
