SWORD OF BOROMIR (UC1400) by United Cutlery Boromir's sword is single-handed, big, broad and powerful - a fit complimentary to its owner. To use it requires someone with great strength, which the skilled warrior Boromir abundantly possessed. The blade's flattened diamond shape and equally wide fuller reduces weight, yet retains strength in the end of the blade by stopping just short of the tip. The guard, similar to that of his father's sword, shows a warrior's flourish in that it is formed from a square-edged piece of steel that has been twisted before being curved into a crescent. The handgrip is wide like the blade, and the pommel is an elegant and simple piece of steel that adds weight to balance the blade. The 30 3/16" blade is constructed of polished 420 stainless steel and is of rat-tail tang construction. The bade is false-edged measuring 30 3/16 inches, and the sword measures 39 inches overall with a point of balance 2 3/8 inches from the guard. Includes a certificate of authenticity and a 12-1/8" x 13-3/8" x 3/4" wood display plaque with a silkscreened design, instructions and hardware.

Boromir was the eldest son of Denethor II and older brother of Faramir.
Boromir was beloved by his father and was like him in face and pride, but in little else. Boromir's temperament was similar to King Eärnur of old, he took no wife and was more interested in arms and warfare. He cared little for lore, save for the tales of old battles. Boromir was a man of great strength and valour. He had a fair and noble face, dark haired and grey-eyed, proud and stern of glance. He was one of the nine walkers who made up the Fellowship of the Ring.
