This Marto MA584.1 Templar Sword is a handsomely crafted archetype that combines the chivalry, symbolism and battle-honed design of the swords used by these ambitious first Crusaders. The double edge blade is constructed of 440 Toledo Steel and is fully tempered for strength and flexibility.
The tri-tone hilt is of antiqued Silver plated Zamak with swirling ivy floral decor decorated with Winged Simargl in the grip and cross guard in high relief immerging from an exquisite foundation of deeper blue toned base applique. The hilt and cross guard are decorated with gold medallions of Templar symbols which include Shields of Templar cross Pattée, Shields bearing acorn and Fleur-de-lis, and a large golden medallion which resides in the center of the guard depicting two Templar Knights on the same horse — symbolizing both poverty and fierceness.
The large 2 1/2 inch pommel is of antiqued gold bearing a knot weave that encircles a Templar Cross detailed in Gold and Bronze tone recessed within the pommel center. The pommel features four cut outs in the metal, one between each arm of the cross.
