Art Gladius historical swords are detailed representations of the swords of famous historical figures or legendary heroes. King Arthur's history and legend is intimately linked to the magic and mystery of this magnificent sword, "Excalibur." As Merlin the wizard proclaimed, only one shall be able to remove the sword from the stone, and he shall be king. Arthur knelt in front of the stone and took the sword and beheld his destiny. This Excalibur Sword is a beautiful representation of the mystical sword befitting a destined King.
The Silver & Gold duotone edition Excalibur Sword (SG203) features celtic knotwork patterns with winged serpent drangons sculpted throughout its cruciform style hilt. The cast zamak hilt is silver plated and given a darkened patina applique for a beautiful antique finish, while gold detailing creates an elegant complementary visual appeal. The large wheel pommel carries the name of the sword and it's bearer "EXCALIBUR • KING ARTHUR" encircling a golden winged dragon within a darkened silver field in its center sculpted in high relief.
The 35 inch blade is constructed in 420C stainless steel that is tempered to 45-50 HRC, and given a lustrous mirror polish that is virtually maintenance free. The Spanish steel blade is masterfully deep etched in black with Arthur's Roundtable insignia, embellished with lavish medieval scrollwork and knotwork designs. Each blade is stamped with the Art Gladius logo and Toledo seal of authenticity. The Exclaibur Sword's dual-edge blade is un-edged for safety and well suited for costume, theatre, presentation and stunning display.
