EXCALIBUR - KING ARTHUR'S SWORD 4170/NQ (Silver Finish) DENIX
Excalibur, the fabled sword of King Arthur, evokes scenes of the Sword in the Stone, the Lady of the Lake and Camelot. The story of King Arthur is intimately linked to this magical sword, whose name means "Cut Steel", which was one of its many properties. The Sword Excalibur by Denix also has an optional matching Dagger available (Model 4139NQ), making the perfect companion set for costume, theater or display.
This King Arthur Sword (4170NQ) by Denix of Spain boasts a 29 5/8 inch cast metal blade that is elaborately etched with magical symbols as might be expected for a sword renown for its magical powers. The cruciform hit features flaring quillions each brilliantly decorated with fierce passant dragons protecting Arthur's Roundtable Seal embedded in its center. A large wheel pommel carries the classic multi-tier faceted design associated with Excalibur and includes the name Excalibur engraved at the top.
A contoured cast wire wrap handle is flanked by smooth silver fittings that project into the metal guard and pommel, in which all have been given a lustrous antiqued silver finish. The King Arthur Excalibur Sword comes complete with a simulated black leather wrapped scabbard with crossing accent straps, and fitted with elaborate sculpted throat and chape of antiqued silver. The scabbard throat bears Name Excalibur positioned above a rampant winged Lion-Dragon; Arthur's title and name "King Arthur" directly beneath. The blades of Denix swords are cast from a metal alloy and cannot be sharpened, making them safe for display in family environments, medieval festivals and activities.
