MAA ITALIAN DAGGER 88ITDM Cold Steel
This Italian Dagger is from the Cold Steel Men At Arms collection and is a matching companion to the larger MAA Italian Longsword (88ITSM). The dual edged sharp and tempered blade of 1055 high carbon steel is blued for a dark, protective finish and the hilt of steel is blued to match. It features a simple cruciform hilt, long upturned cross guard, and a heavy counter-balancing fish tail pommel that is secured in place with a pommel nut.
A suitable back-up defense for the warrior on the field, or a preferred blade in closely confined indoor brawling and contested grappling, this hefty Italian dagger measures 19 1/8 inches overall and weighs in at approximately 1 lb 4.2 oz. The grip is constructed with leather-over-wood and bound in tight black stitching.
This dagger is an outstanding close-quarters weapon. Its stout hard wood handle is banded for a secure grip. The excellent blade strength, hilt materials and superb craftsmanship of this piece would make it a much sought after weapon by professional men at arms through out medieval Europe. The MAA Italian Dagger comes complete with a matching black leather scabbard with a blackened metal chape and throat. This Italian companion dagger 88ITD is built with the same exacting standards as its larger counterpart the MAA Italian Longsword. The dagger is sharp enough to cut and slice with either of its twin edges, while sturdy and stiff enough to stab and thrust as well as block, parry and pass an opposing weapon.
The Cold Steel MAA Italian Longsword (88ITSM) is modeled on the Italian concept of sword design. Its blade and balance slightly favors thrusting attacks, however, its cutting edges are astonishingly effective too and can deliver some down right ferocious blows.
