This MAA Hand and a Half Dagger is from the Cold Steel Men At Arms collection and is a matching companion to the larger MAA Hand and a Half Sword (88HNHM). The 13 inch, dual edged, sharp, and tempered blade is of 1055 high carbon steel. It is blued for a dark, protective finish and the hilt of steel is blued to match. Its hilt is simple cruciform style, with a long straight cross guard, and a heavy counter-balancing fish tail pommel that is secured in place with a pommel nut.
A suitable back-up defense for the warrior on the field, or a preferred blade in closely confined indoor brawling and contested grappling, this hefty Hand and a Half Dagger measures 19 3/4 inches overall and weighs in at approximately 1 lb 3.6 oz. The grip is constructed with leather-over-wood and bound in tight black stitching.
This dagger is an outstanding close-quarters weapon. Its stout hard wood handle is banded for a secure grip. The excellent blade strength, hilt materials and superb craftsmanship of this piece would make it a much sought after weapon by professional men at arms through out medieval Europe. The MAA Hand and a Half Dagger comes complete with a matching black leather scabbard with a blackened metal throat and chape that is decorated with a cruciform. An excellent companion blade or offhand parrying tool, the Cold Steel MAA Hand and a Half Dagger also be touted a an attractive stand-alone blade that's sure to turn heads when worn on your belt!
