SWORD HILTED DAGGER 402556 Windlass Steelcrafts The historically practical cruciform hilt with single-hand grip and disc pommel was to be the standard functional model for countless daggers and sword styles to follow. Large daggers of this design were carried by knights and men-at-arms. While they were sometimes used for camp chores, they were mainly used on the battlefield where they were often the last line of defense.
This classic form found in may swords and daggers of the period, has a steel wheel pommel down curving guard, and acute profiled taper to its blade. The hand forged, 1055 high carbon steel blade is very well balanced for a cut, and stiff for a solid thrust. The dual-edged blade comes factory dull allowing for custom sharpening to personal specifications and preferred use.
The hard wood grip is covered in black leather and stitched on one side. The tapered grip is flanked by a solid steel cross guard and large solid steel wheel pommel. The thick diamond cross-section blade resolves to a stout tail secured via a threaded tang and pommel. The Sword Hilted Dagger includes a matching black leather scabbard equipped with steel throat fitting and chape.
