KING RICHARD THE LIONHEART DAGGER 4157/N DENIX
Richard Plantagenet is revered as one of the great warrior kings of England. Richard I was well known for his bravery which earned him the nickname "The Lionheart". This brass version of the Lionheart dagger by Denix is a match for their Lionheart sword (Model 4125/L), making the perfect companion set for costume, theater or display.
The King Richard the Lionheart Dagger by Denix of Spain boasts an 11 inch cast metal blade with long tapering blood groove that travels the length of the blade. The hilt is sculpted and then cast in sturdy zinc alloy metal and given a beautiful antique brass finish. The hilt features a brilliantly sculpted guard decorated with full bodied lions resting on each quillion, guarding the Lionheart's three lion passant coat of arms residing in its center. The acorn profile pommel bears a Crusader's Cross in honor of Richards command of English contingent armies during the "King's Crusade" to reconquer the Holy Land.
The King Richard the Lionheart dagger comes complete with a luxurious red maroon leather wrap, and fitted with elaborate sculpted throat and chape of antiqued brass. The scabbard throat bears the initial "R" for Richard in elegant old english typeface, and the chape bears an "L" for Lionheart. The blades of Denix daggers and swords are cast from a metal alloy and cannot be sharpened, making them safe for display in family environments.
