KING ARTHUR'S DAGGER 4139/L DENIX
In mythology, the dagger of King Arthur was used to swear blood oaths of honor and loyalty. As symbolic as his sword Excalibur, King Arthur’s dagger never left his side. This version of the dagger by Denix is a match for their Excalibur sword (Model 4123), making the perfect companion set for costume, theater or display.
This bold King Arthur Dagger (4139L) by Denix of Spain boasts a 11 inch cast metal blade with long tapering blood groove that travels the length of the blade. The hit features a brillianty sculpted guard decorated with lionesque quillions, and a large wheel pommel adorn with rampant winged lions, symbolic of great strength, nobility and courage. The guards center portrays the face of the great wizard Merlin who served as Arthur's advisor, teacher and mentor.
A contoured wire wrap handle is flanked by the cast metal guard and pommel which have been given complementary antiqued in gold and silver finishes. King Arthur's dagger comes complete with scabbard wrapped in simulated brown leather and cross hatching accent straps, that is fitted with elaboratly sculpted throat and chape. The scabbard throat bears his title and name "King Arthur" directly beneath his "Roundtable Seal". The blades of Denix daggers and swords are cast from a metal alloy and cannot be sharpened, making them safe for display in family environments, medieval festivals and activites.
