DAMASCUS SIR WILLIAM MARSHALL SWORD SH2001 HANWEI The Paul Chen single-hand Damascus Steel Marshall Sword from Hanwei sets new standards of quality and authenticity in broadsword construction. The sword is based on an original, now in a British museum, used by one of England’s finest knights, Sir William Marshall, who served the crown faithfully under Henry II, Richard the Lionheart and Jack Lackland.
This sword features a forged - folded Swedish powder steel blade with excellent handling characteristics. Tempered to a tough HRC 54, the blade section features a central ridged fuller and full-length distal taper - a tough test for the bladesmith but resulting in a superb combination of speed and strength. The 33 1/4 inch dual-edge blade comes factory sharp. The pommel and guard are of steel and are gracefull in their functional simplicity.
The 4 1/4 single hand core wood grip is leather wrapped and beautifully laced adding an elegant visual appeal to this very comfortable grip. The full tang blade extends through the pommel where it is peened for strong, secure functionality.
The Paul Chen Damascus Sir William Marshall Sword (SH2001) by Hanwei is an authentic replica of the museum piece and includes a leather-covered scabbard fitted with steel locket and chape. Truly a sword for the connoisseur.
See Hanwei models SH2000 for the forged monosteel version and SH2046 for the "Blunt Combat" version of the Marshall sword.
