KNIGHT'S RIDING SWORD IP-705 Legacy Arms
According to Ewart Oakeshott. "Records of the Medieval Sword", page 151; An identical one is shown on two early 14th century effigies in Germany. (i), of Arnold I Langraph of Cleve, + 1320 in Stiftskirche at Cleve, and (ii), of one of the hero-figures, c. 1308, in the Rathaus at Cologne. Not only are hilts of the swords on these figures exactly the same as this sword, but the size is too...more proof (if any more is needed, which it shouldn't be) that these short swords were not made for boys, or archers etc., but for knights and in this case, great nobles.
The Generation 2/Legacy Knight's Riding Sword features a dual edge 21 inch 5160 high carbon steel blade that has been hand forged and hand tempered. The dual-edge fullered blade comes pre-sharpened and is constructed with a strong full length tang that is peened onto a polished steel wheel pommel adding strength, balance and durability to this fully functional sword. The blade is equipped with a long fuller that runs two third of its length, providing quickness and balance while maintaining the necessary stiffness for a devastating cutting stroke. Both cross guard and pommel are of solid steel accommodating a hardwood grip wrapped in tight black leather.
The Legacy Arms Knight's Riding Sword IP-605 includes a wood-core scabbard wrapped in black leather with a steel chape and locket.
