BEILE DAO (SH2386) CAS HANWEI
The original Beile (Lord in Manchu), also known as the "Banner Lords" and "Iron-Capped Princes" were the sons of Nurgaci, founder of the Qing Dynasty. After his death the Beile Hong Taiji was selected as Khan. The Beile Dao (SH2386) made by CAS Hanwei commemorates this Prince.
This Sword features a beautifully patterned 29 inch folded Damascus blade with a double fuller and short false edge at the back of the tip. The cutting edge is very sharp and the point of balance for the Beile Dao is found at 6 1/2 inches. The grip is constructed of wood with dyed green rayskin panels and a green cord wrap. The guard and pommel are made of blackened iron and exhibits beautifully intricate open work dragon designs. The matching wood scabbard is covered in polished rayskin with blackened iron hardware. Includes a wooden presentation box. This sword will only be available in limited quantities. |

THE QING DYNASTY
The Qing Dynasty, also known as the Manchu Dynasty, was the last ruling dynasty of China, ruling from 1644 to 1912 (with a brief, abortive restoration in 1917). It was preceded by the Ming Dynasty and followed by the Republic of China. Originally established as the Jin Dynasty, in 1616, it changed its name to "Qing", meaning "clear" or "pellucid", in 1636. As the emperor, Hong Taiji is commonly recognized as having abilities similar to the best emperors such as Yongle, Tang Taizong because of his effective rule, effective use of talent, and effective warring skills. His ability to use people was only paralleled by Yuan Taizu, Tang Taizong, and Han Guangwudi. In this sense, Hong Taiji is like the true beginning emperor for the Qing Dynasty. Some historians suspect Hong Taiji was overall underrated and overlooked as a great emperor because he was a Manchu. |
