This stunning Gladiator Sword is hand made by Marto of Toledo Spain and is the authentic, officially licensed Gladiator movie sword meticulously replicated from the sword wielded by Tigris the Gaul in the blockbuster movie GLADIATOR™. The Model 516 features a 21 inch sword blade of tempered mirror polished carbon steel with a blade shape and design of the Mainz type, used between the 2nd century B.C. and the 1st century A.D. It is essentially a thrusting sword capable of rupturing mail and is a nasty powerful and swift blade for the arena or battlefield. Particularly ornate, this movie replica has a unique and beautifully stunning tiger claw hand guard and pommel sculpted in antiqued polished brass, with black leather grip . The 420 steel blade is unsharpened for safe display and is stamped with Gladiator™ and Marto Seals of authenticity. This authentic richly detailed Decorative Model is an exquisite collectors piece.   Tigris of Gaul was an undefeated gladiator who is called out of retirement to duel Maximus. Tigris was defeated by Maximus Decimus Meridius (Russell Crowe) who refused to obey Commodus's command to perform the coup de grace. As a result, Maximus is pronounced "Maximus the Merciful" by Roman spectators.

Marto has created exact replicas of the swords and weapons worn by Maximus Decimus Meridius(Marto 515) and Tigris the Gaul(Marto 516) used in the movie Gladiator (2000) directed by Ridley Scott.
