SCOTTISH CLAYMORE (SH2060) by CAS Hanwei
Mainstay of the Highland warriors of the late 15th and 16th centuries, the Claymore had a uniquely styled hilt that sets it apart from other great swords of the period. Typically of longsword length, this versatile weapon could deliver great sweeping slashes or powerful thrusts. Replicated from a surviving museum piece our Claymore is classic in its design, with distinctive sloping quillons terminating in quatrefoils and a high-collared quillon block with langets following the blade fuller. The leather-covered grip is topped by a steel globate pommel that is peened to the blade tang. The grip measures 11 1/2" length. The 41 inch sharpened blade is of Hanwei 5160 high carbon spring steel. This fully functional Claymore measures 55 3/8 inches overall. Originally carried slung on the back, this Claymore is a monster yet carries great balance for wielding. See model SH2060N for the Antiqued-finished version of this sword.
