CIVIL WAR HENRY CARTRIDGE BOX   HS-7718 by SZCO
Possibly the rarest cartridge box of the Civil War, this box replicates a similar box manufactured by the New Haven Arms Company in 1864. The black leather flap measures 7 inches across and is embossed with the standard "US" oval 3 inches across. The flap measures 4 inches from bottom to top of the box. The back of the box has two, three-quarters of an inch leather straps riveted to the box four inches long for fitting over a cavalry or infantry belt. The flap affixes to the box by a brass finial in a three-quarter inch leather strap. Inside the box are two staggered rows of linen loops with places for a total of 20 cartridges. The closed box itself is 7 inches by 2 inches and accomodates a 7 inch brass rod that runs through the base spine creating stability and a functional hinge. The period finish is applied to outer surface of the box and natural tones inside. Our Civil War Henry Cartridge Box is a great accessory to top off your authentic Civil War outfit. Ideal for re-enactments, weddings, LARPing, costumes for film and theatre.
