"THE CHAMPION" ONE HAND BATTLE SWORD 501524 Windlass
Stage combat swords have to meet different requirements than battle-ready swords do. In order to minimize the risk of injury from cuts and thrusts during stage combat with swords, the Windlass Steel Crafts "Champion" model 501524 Battle Sword is of rugged 1065 High Carbon Steel with back edges that are at least 3.5 mm thick everywhere and it even has a rounded point.
The thick blade of this one handed stage combat sword makes it somewhat more top-heavy than a comparable battle-ready sword would be. The grip is ridged in three places and is wrapped in genuine leather for increased control and comfort. The Windlass Steel Crafts one handed stage combat sword has a riveted wheel pommel typical of swords that were made between the 10th and 15th centuries, but the curved crossguard places it firmly in the 14th/15th century. Oakeshott type: XVIIId
This one handed stage combat sword includes a scabbard made of genuine leather with a polished steel mount and chape.
Note: This Fine Quality Windlass Steel Crafts Sword has blunt edges, solid construction materials, and handling qualities well suited for rugged Stage Combat yet is beautiful enough for home display!
