ROBIN HOOD DAGGER SG524 ART GLADIUS
Robin Hood (Robyn Hode in earlier manuscripts) was a heroic outlaw from English folklore. He is traditionally associated with "robbing from the rich to give to the poor" and was both an excellent archer and swordsman. There are many legends surrounding him, the most popular of which sees him fighting the Sheriff of Nottingham and evil Prince John whilst King Richard was away fighting in the Crusades.
This Robin Hood Dagger (SG524) is an excellent smaller companion to the Art Gladius "Albion" Sword of Robin Hood (SG293). Like the Sword, this dagger has a dramatic forward swept hilt adorn with exquisite detailing of scroll work and celtic knot work. The hilt is brass plated Zamak that has been given a darkened patina applique finish that produces contrast and gives the engravings an antiqued appeal. The grip is black leather wrap divided by a Red enameled Cross on White inlay. The large wheel pommel is takes the form of a Celtic cross with a simulated red ruby jewel mounted in its center.
The 10 3/4 inch blade is constructed in stainless steel that is tempered to 45-50 HRC, and given a lustrous mirror polish. The blade is decorated with a deep etch depicting a mounted knight slaying a dragon positioned above a coat of arms. The dagger's dual-edge blade is dulled for safety and well suited for costume and beautiful display. This Robin Hood Dagger edition comes with a highly decorated matching scabbard with brass metal throat and chape and enamel hand painted detailing.
Note: These Fine Quality Decorative Daggers are designed for costume and display and not intended for cutting or striking against other objects.
