SAMURAI FOLDING FAN w/ DISPLAY STAND - by Musashi
Absolutely beautiful. Musashi's samurai fan with custom designed bamboo construction adds a whole new dimension to your sword collection and display. The Fan is made of heavy paper and wood and measures 13 inches long while closed and 2 feet wide while open. Across the fan the Musashi logo and Kanji are brushed in bold black print with very light silhouettes of the crests of some of the most legendary houses of Japan guards splashed across the background. Includes hardwood display stand allowing the fan to remain open while on display next to your swords.
The fan looks like a very docile object. However, this was one of the tools a Japanese commander would use during battle. Since the fan was a large object it was easily seen from a distance. Very similar to flags, the fan would be used to signal troops movements during the heat of a battle. Only a commander could carry a fan and so this also became a symbol of stature. |
