FALCATA (IP-086) LEGACY ARMS
Used by the Celt-Iberians of Roman times, the Falcata was described as one of the most devastating swords the Romans ever faced. The Legacy Arms / Generation 2 Falcata is accurately designed with a 20-1/2 inch steel blade that is curved and broader towards the point. This shape distributes the weight in such a way that the falcata is capable of delivering a blow with the momentum of an axe, while maintaining the longer cutting edge of a sword. The Falcata IP-086 is a functional battle ready sword, with a full length tang, featuring a single edged tempered 5160 high carbon steel blade that is factory sharp and ready for cutting. The hook-shaped grip is constructed of mild blackened steel. The Falcata comes with a full length top grain black leather belt scabbard. More than just a wall hanger, this Functional Replica measures 26 1/2 inches in Overall Length with a point of balance 4 3/16 inches below the hit, weighing in at 3 lbs. 1.4 oz. |

THE FALCATA
The Falcata is believed to be a descendent of the Greek Kopis. The single edge design with the heavy forward balance made it a devastating cleaving weapon, capable of severing flesh, bone and armor in a single blow. The falcata was used to great effect by the Spanish and Celt-Iberians against the Romans for hundreds of years..
