 Used in the days of the Civil War, the U.S. Volcanic Repeating Pistol was definitely a step up from the percussion pistol. At the time, when all other pistols were black powder, this relatively obscure gun was a lever-action repeating pistol. The Volcanic version was due to a joint venture between Horace Smith and Daniel Wesson and led to the partnership of Smith and Wesson a year later in 1854, along with the creation of the patented .22 rimfire metallic cartridge. One of the world's largest gun companies and the world's most popular cartridge are here because of this obscure pistol. Our Denix model 1121 non-firing replica features functional lever action, hammer and trigger, and cartridge spring chamber. Antiqued brass finish with wood grips and blued barrel.
