The Marto 190 Turrero Tanto is hand crafted by Marto of Toledo Spain. The Tanto Turrero Samurai Dagger is a high quality replica reproduction of the original held in the Marto private collection. Scabbard and grip are made in resin (false ivory), and are engraved with japanese life scenes and flora design patterns that partially lift off the surface in a brilliantly carved technique of detached full relief. The slightly curved, one-edged blade is tempered 440 steel. The Tanto measures 11 inches overall.
Marto has been a leader in quality for nearly 50 years, and as many collectors know, the attention to the exquisite detailing as exemplified in this museum quality Turrero Tanto is another fine example of a craftsmanship that has kept Marto's reputation secure as the leading manufacturer of decorative Japanese swords in the world today.
